RefWorks Workshop

A training session introducing RefWorks will be offered Friday, Janurary 26, from 10 to 11:30 AM in Room 6418. RefWorks is an online research management tool, designed to help researchers gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies. It provides an online alternative to EndNote. For more information on RefWorks go to http://www.refworks.com/. This session will be taught by Sharon Stillwagon, a visiting RefWorks/CSA trainer. January 22, 2007We are pleased to announce that online access to the entire contents of the New York Review of Books from 1963 to the present is now available online from the Mina Rees Library’s database page.
ILLiad/Interlibrary Loan Request Limit Increase
January 4, 2007As of January 1, 2007, the limit for ILL requests will be increased from 10 to 15 items. Students who use ILLiad through the Graduate Center’s Mina Rees Library will be able to have up to 15 items in process at once, including those currently checked out.

Sage Communication Database
January 3, 2007As of January 3, CUNY subscribes to SAGE Communication, offering the text of 19 SAGE communication journals, including Discourse & Society, New Media & Society, and Written Communication. CUNY subscribes to seven SAGE journal collections.
New Eighteenth Century Collection Online Subscription
January 3, 2007The library is pleased to announce that we now have a subscription to the Eighteenth Century Collection Online (ECCO). ECCO offers every page of 150,000 books published during the eighteenth century in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Latin, Spanish, and Welsh. In addition to searches by author, title, and publisher, these books may be searched by individual categories such as fine arts, history and geography, law, literature and language, medicine, science, and technology, religion and philosophy, social sciences, general reference, or a combination of two or more subjects. Illustrated works may be searched by cartoon, map, music, portrait, etc. ECCO may also be browsed by author and title. On-campus and remote GC users can access ECCO.
