As of May 30, the Graduate Center subscribes to Computing Reviews. This Association for Computing Machinery database provides reviews of books and journal articles covering all aspects of computing.
Digital Dissertations and EEBO
May 29, 2008As of May 29, the Graduate Center’s full-text access in Dissertation Abstracts has expanded. In addition to the text of most Graduate Center dissertations since 1996, Graduate Center patrons now have access to dissertations from other institutions for the same period. Many pre-1997 dissertations from other institutions are also available.
In addition, the Graduate Center subscribes to Early English Books Online. EEBO includes the text of over 118,500 books published between 1473 and 1700. Users should consult the information about resizing text, printing multiple pages, and citing EEBO titles.
PsycCritiques
May 27, 2008The Graduate Center subscribes to PsycCritiques, an American Psychological Association database, offering the full text of reviews of recent scholarly and professional books in psychology from 1956 to the present, as well as reviews of popular films and books from a psychological perspective.
Doctoral Student Loan Period Extended to 6 Weeks, July 1
May 23, 2008The CUNY Council of Chief Librarians has approved Doctoral/PhD students 6-week loans for CUNY circulating material beginning July 1, 2008. Renewal limits will continue to be set at the discretion of individual CUNY libraries. Graduate Center librarians have been consistent proponents for extending graduate student and faculty loan lengths. Thanks to all who continue to press for CUNY-wide library support for graduate-level research.
