JSTOR V Collection

As of June 30, CUNY’s JSTOR subscription includes the JSTOR V Collection, offering 18 additional journals to the more than 900 already available. This collection will total 120 titles by the end of 2009. The newly available titles are The Bulletin of the Museum of Modern Art, Design Quarterly, Environmental History, Film History, Germanic Museum Review, The Hudson Review, Hypatia, Journal of Folklore Research, Journal of Modern Literature, Research in African Literatures, and Victorian Studies. As with all JSTOR titles, the most recent issues of ongoing journals are not available because of restrictions imposed by publishers. Check the Mina Rees Library’s list of available electronic journals to determine where the latest issues of these titles may be available.

Global warming, energy conservation, natural resources, and pollution are among the issues addressed by this database. Though the database is primarily bibliographic, it will include, during the summer of 2008, full text from all issues of Bioscience, Conservation Biology, Journal of Ecology, and Journal of Environmental Planning & Management. Links to these journals will be available soon in the library’s list of journals available electronically.

Oxford Reference Online Additions

To its collection of more than 100 full-text reference works, Oxford Reference Online has added Oxford Dictionary of American Art and Artists, Oxford Companion to Black British History, Dictionary of Environment and Conservation, Dictionary of Law Enforcement, Oxford Companion to Irish History, Oxford Companion to Scottish History, and Oxford Companion to the High Court of Australia.
