Drop by the library on Tuesday, Sept 25th, between 2 and 5 PM to learn about Scopus and enjoy free cookies and coffee. Scopus is a dynamic abstract and citation database that indexes 15,000 international peer-reviewed journals in the social sciences, sciences, and medicine from 1996 to the present. Stop by the reference desk for more information on this and other databases.

This session will cover the basics of using the online research management tool RefWorks. The web-based program, which is an online alternative to EndNote, is designed to help researchers gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies. If your defense is in sight, plan to attend one of these workshops to learn the dissertation deposit process including depositing a copy of your dissertation electronically. Introduction to Library Services

Designed for new Grad Center students who missed the student orientation session August 21, this session introduces the library website, licensed databases and full-text resources, intra-CUNY requesting, Electronic Reserve, off-campus online research, Interlibrary Loan and more. A GC network userid/pwd and a GC Library barcode are helpful but not necessary to attend.

RefWorks Workshop

A training session introducing RefWorks will be offered Friday, Janurary 26, from 10 to 11:30 AM in Room 6418. RefWorks is an online research management tool, designed to help researchers gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies.
